1.0 Occupational Health & Workplace Safety

1.1 General Employee Safety

1.1.1 Store has passed its most recent local or health department inspection with no critical violations—no failing status, fines, or crisis-level issues. A designated safety leader and team are also in place, as required by regulations.

1.1.2 Mandatory safety signages (e.g., wet floor, fire exit, high voltage, low head clearance) are clearly posted, visible, and in good condition. Safety devices for equipment with potential risk (e.g., slicers, mixers) are functional, with safety guards and emergency stop buttons properly installed and working.

1.1.3 Employees are trained in safe lifting techniques and use appropriate PPE as needed (e.g., back support, non-slip footwear, gloves, masks, vests). Job safety manuals and references are accessible to support safe practices.

1.1.4 Health and safety risks are continuously monitored and assessed. Mitigation measures are implemented promptly, and action plans are tracked to ensure timely resolution.

1.1.5 All work environment are suitable at all times during working hours with:

Adequate lighting to ensure visibility, safety and efficiency during tasks.

Proper ventilation is maintained to provide fresh air, reduce odors, and minimize exposure to fumes or airborne contaminants.

Maintaining comfortable temperature levels to promote employee well-being and productivity

Floors are kept dry to minimize the risk of slipping and falling.

1.2 Employee Health, Wellness & Welfare

1.2.1 Employee facilities such as clean restrooms, safe drinking water, handwashing stations, and designated break areas are available and maintained in good condition, as mandated by applicable regulations. This includes, but is not limited to:

1.2.2 Employees are provided with scheduled breaks and proper shift rotations to help prevent physical and mental fatigue. Mandatory Health and wellness programs—such as annual / regular medical checks, paid vacation and sick leave, and access to employee assistance programs—are implemented in accordance with applicable labor standards to support overall well-being.

3.0 STORE EQUIPMENT SAFETY

3.1 All store equipment (e.g., fryers, grills, ovens, mixers) are routinely inspected, and maintenance activities are logged and up to date.

3.2 Only trained staff operate specific store equipment. Training includes proper start-up, shut-down, and emergency handling.

3.3 Faulty or broken equipment is immediately tagged out, repaired, or removed from service. It is not used while unsafe. Any potential hazards are corrected to mitigate impact to safety.

4.0 SECURITY & ASSET HANDLING

4.1 Operational CCTV systems are installed in high-risk zones (e.g., front counter, kitchen back door, receiving area) and regularly reviewed for functionality.

4.2 Designated employees are trained on how to handle theft, break-ins, and aggressive behavior. A store-specific emergency and reporting protocol is in place.

4.3 High-value items and cash registers are secured at all times.

5.0 HEALTH & FIRST AID

5.1 First aid kits are well-stocked and placed in key areas.

5.2 Accident, injury and illness logbooks are maintained, and incidents are reported to management.
